Substance abuse, addiction, or harmful use
If you are worried about your alcohol or drug habits, gambling habits, or if you feel that you need help to break an addiction, you can receive various types of support. Sometimes a few supportive conversations are enough to create change, other times more extensive support or treatment may be needed.
Outpatient care for you with addiction problems
We offer support and treatment for individual adults, and you can contact us if you:
- are worried about your alcohol consumption
- have problems with drugs or other substances
- are worried about your gambling habits.
We work based on CBT, and together with you we adapt the content of the treatment to your needs. The starting point in the treatment relationship is always our shared conversation.
Support and help for addiction problems
Examples of support and help you may be offered:
- individual counseling treatment through the municipality's outpatient care
- collaboration with the Region's addiction care
- Pallas, the municipality's drug-free housing with support for adults with addiction issues
- round-the-clock care at a treatment home.
Collaboration between municipality and region
We work closely with Beroendecentrum Stockholm, which is run by Region Stockholm. Region Stockholm has local outpatient clinics as well as hospital-based inpatient care for detoxification, withdrawal treatment, and assessment. The social workers have daily contact with staff from Beroendecentrum.
Pallas – the municipality's drug-free housing
The Pallas boarding home is a sober and drug-free residence for adults with substance abuse issues. The goal of your stay is for you to gain structure in your everyday life with routines, maintain a sober and drug-free lifestyle, and work actively toward independence.
Contact
You can contact the Reception Unit for advice or to apply for support. What support we can offer depends on what you want to change, and together we make a plan for how the treatment work will be designed. If you want to seek support for yourself, you can also do so through the municipality's e-service.
