Young person with substance abuse, addiction, or harmful use
Alcohol, pills, and drugs can cause serious harm to a young body. They can also lead to young people ending up in risky situations. MiniMaria can provide support to you as a young person, but also to the adults around you.
Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol can lead to ending up in risky situations. This can be, for example, an accident, a fight or assault, having sex when you do not want to, or sexual abuse. Alcohol and drugs can also cause you to do things you should not, to commit crimes, or to harm yourself or someone else.
Are you worried about yourself or a friend?
Talk to an adult you trust or contact us at MiniMaria in Märsta. MiniMaria is for you from age 13 up to and including 20, but also for your parents and other adults around you.
We offer advice and support to you who have questions or problems related to alcohol, pills, or drugs. It is enough that you or an adult is worried about you. At MiniMaria, a counselor, nurse, psychologist, and doctor work together. We collaborate closely with Maria Ungdom, which belongs to Region Stockholm. All visits with us are free.
Substance use assessment
A substance use assessment is a mapping of the use of alcohol, drugs, or narcotics. It includes, among other things:
- A start-up meeting with the young person and parent
- Individual conversations with the young person – mental health, drug mapping, and the social situation
- Urine sampling
- Psychologist consultations – screening for the most common psychiatric diagnoses in children and young people
- Doctor consultations
- Parental support conversations
- Follow-up of the assessment together with the young person and parent.
Worried parents
As a parent, you do not need to know that your child has started drinking or tried drugs in order to contact us. It is enough that you are worried. You can call us to ask questions and get help.
